Still

32 touch instruments to pluck, strike and stir. Loop, layer and record your own music.

Help test Still

Still is a free app of 32 touch instruments: pluck strings, strike a copper plate, stir a swarm of light. Before it can go on Google Play for everyone, 12 people need to test it for two weeks. Thank you for being one of them. Here is all of it, in five steps.

1. Send me your Google account

Sign up with the form above, or email me the Gmail address you use on your Android phone. It has to be the same account the Play Store uses on that phone. I add you to the test, usually within a day, and reply when you are in.

Or email my Gmail address

2. Join the test

On your phone, open the test link and tap "Become a tester". The link only works once I have added you.

3. Install Still

From the same page tap "Download it on Google Play", or open Still in the Play Store and install it like any app. It needs Android 8 or newer.

4. Keep it for 14 days

Keep Still installed and stay in the test for two full weeks. Google counts the days, and if fewer than 12 people stay in, the count starts again. A few minutes on most days is perfect; there is no right way to play.

5. Tell me what you think

On the first screen, tap "Send feedback". Inside any toy, open Settings and use Feedback: Idea for thoughts, Bug for problems (it adds your phone model and app version for you). Both open your email app; nothing is sent until you press send.

Things to try

Open a few different toys from the shelf and just touch them.
Drag a finger across a toy to play a melody, hold to sustain, try two fingers.
Swipe the toy name up or down to change the mood (Fire, Water, Earth, Glass, Neon, Aether).
Tap the speaker to switch to silent mode, then back.
Record a loop, add another toy on top, change the tempo.
Record a 15-second clip with the camera button next to record, then share it if you like.
Tap the heart for a beat, then Key to change the key every toy plays in.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

No. Still is free, with no ads, no account and nothing to buy inside it.

What do you collect?

Nothing. The app has no internet access. Feedback reaches me only when you send an email yourself.

I tapped the link and it says the app is not available.

You are probably signed in with a different Google account, or I have not added you yet. Check which account the Play Store uses, then email me.

Can I leave early?

Yes, any time: open the test link and tap "Leave the test", then uninstall. It just helps a lot to stay the full 14 days.
